Following requests from residents Billingham Town Council has introduced new projects within our Town over the past two years, along with sponsoring many community groups and recently becoming an integral partner in the delivery of an employment programme funded by Communities Fund.

Communities Fund

Working in partnership with lead provider Newtown/Clarences Resource Centres, Billingham Town Council is an integral partner in tackling worklessness within Billingham.

Billingham Town Council has appointed a Community Development Officer to deliver this fundamental project.

It is unique for a Town Council to be involved with such projects, but we want to play a vital role in the well being of our community and feel that giving our support will ensure that you, our residents will be given the best possible support and guidance from this campaign.

If you are unemployed and looking to get back into the workforce the Communities Fund programme can offer you personalised one to one support to help you to find the job that you want.  The Communities Fund can help with:

  • Creating an up to date professional CV
  • Interview techniques
  • Job searches
  • Information, Advice & Guidance on training opportunities
  • Confidence building
  • Funding

If you or anyone you know may be interested in becoming involved with the Communities Fund or if you would like further information on what help is available to you, please contact Laura Thompson, Low Grange Community Centre on 07540559840.
